Welcome to your Postdoc Council

The aim of the Postdoc Council (PC) is to establish and maintain a stable and responsive channel of interaction between the postdoc community and the CfA Administration. In this regard, the PC aims to

Create and maintain initiatives to improve the working conditions of the postdoctoral employees and fellowship holders.
Provide representation of the postdoctoral researchers at the CfA executive committee meetings and give voice to postdoctoral researchers’ concerns and ideas.
Encourage social and educational interaction within postdoctoral employees and fellowship holders.

The current PC has representation from all divisions and departments at CfA: Theoretical Astrophysics (TA), Solar, Stellar and Planetary Sciences (SSP), High Energy Astrophysics (HEA), Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMP), Radio and Geoastronomy (RG) and the Science and Education Department (SED).

News from the Postdoc Council

We had a blast at the ECR symposium !

The 2024 ECR Symposium in November was a huge success! The Postdoc Council would like to thank all of the attendees who presented and helped the ECRs at the CfA become more connected with one another! We also extend a special thank you to Purvang Patel, Daniel Eisenstein, Kim-Vy Tran, Elissa Siegel, Charles Hickey, and Elizabeth Doyle for their financial and logistical support.

During this event postdocs could share a bit about their research and life out of work. This was a wonderful opportunity for building a stronger ECR community at CfA and to identify possible collaborators.

We are looking forward to the next one!
